Nothing you choose is sent to us or saved. Fees from ISD, the Department of Enterprise (DETE), Citizens Information and the Department of Foreign Affairs, checked 3 October 2026. They’re paid separately, at different times.

    The IRP fee

€300 at every registration and renewal, paid by card: at the appointment for a first registration, or online for a renewal. Each person pays separately.

    • Under 16: children don’t register, so there’s nothing to pay.
    • 16 and 17: they register, but there’s no fee until 18.
    • Fee-free permissions include spouses and civil partners of Irish citizens, family of EU citizens with an EU residence card, Withdrawal Agreement residence documents, refugees and others with international protection, family reunified with a refugee, temporary protection, victims of trafficking, the regularisation scheme and a change of permission because of domestic abuse.
