Why On Path exists
If you’re living in Ireland on an immigration permission, or planning to, the rules that shape your life are spread across many official websites, forms, policy documents and pieces of law. They change, they use their own terms, and they rarely answer the question you actually have: when do I renew, can I travel, does this year count?
On Path brings that information together in one place, written for people rather than lawyers. Each guide answers one question and comes with a tool that applies the rules to your own dates and situation.
How we write and check the guides
- 1Official sources onlyEvery fact comes from an official source: Immigration Service Delivery, Citizens Information, the Department of Foreign Affairs, Irish law on the Irish Statute Book, and the other public bodies involved. Forum posts and hearsay never count as a source.
- 2Every claim checkedBefore a guide goes live, we check each claim against those sources, and list them at the end of the guide.
- 3Honest about gapsWhen official pages disagree, or don’t answer a question, we say so rather than guess.
- 4Kept up to dateEach guide shows when it was last reviewed. When rules, fees or processing times change, we update the guides they affect.
What we are not
On Path is not:
- part of the Government of Ireland, Immigration Service Delivery, the Department of Justice or any other public body;
- able to make, influence or speed up any decision on an application;
- a law firm: our guides are general information, not legal advice for your situation.

Rules change, and we want every guide to be right. If something looks wrong or out of date, pleasetell us, with a link to the official source if you have one. We check every correction we receive.
